Helps us discover the inner livingness within us.

Helps us approach and deal with all the phenomena of mind with a friendly attitude.

Replaces the inner struggle and conflict when dealing with neurotic patterns with unconditional friendliness towards oneself.

Through meditation we discover that change is more dependent on how we accept what is rather than trying to change into something that could be. How change is more dependent on how we be with ourselves than anything we try to do to improve ourselves.

Through meditation we can begin to disentangle the numerous threads of our felt senses. It involves staying with unknown and troubling thoughts, letting them take shape

Meditation like intuition is the means by which we can directly approach our feelings or get to a holistic understanding of an every chaging and constantly moving world. It takes us “directly to the root of the confusion.” Just like when we encounter something new, our intellectual mind attempts to dissect our subject and create explanations for its existence. We get carried away and waylaid by semantic thoughts of our limited symbology. In our enthusiasm we begin to concoct a myriad of utilitarian explanations, which “then stand in the way of direct encounters with the real, moving world.” In meditation we can directly experience

Meditation involves sitting straight, with good posture so as to allow unrestricted, full, deep breaths and so ensures a rich supply of oxygen to the brain. Thoughts come and go without us attempting to control or direct them. By observing our churning thoughts and feelings and acknowledging the confusion they effect, “we get a very intimate sense of the area of our life where we are afraid, fixated, or grasping too tightly.” By bringing our attention to our breath gently, we keep ourselves from falling into the whirlpool of chaos, and so remain balanced at the edge of the precipice. By and by we learn to gently approach it’s vortex and “keep our footing” without getting swept away by the churing eddies of the mind, but rather to “stay alert and keep our footing” no matter where the mind may go. Eventually the raucous swells subside, and we may then welcome the gently lapping waves.
